Hurt

Everybody judges my book by its cover,
on the outside I'm happy but underneath I suffer.
With memories of pain, hatred and sorrow
and thoughts of 'maybe not tomorrow'
If there's one things I've learnt its that no-one cares
and they'll never feel the same unless they get to feel this scare.
No-one knows what its like to go through,
they refuse to believe it and deny that its true.

They make it sound as if this terror doesn't exist.
As if it will fade away just like the mist.
They don't know what its like to be abused;
the torture the pain of being used.
DO they really believe what they say they believe?
Is equality really what they want to achieve?
I know that this isn't somethings that many understand.
its a matter of if they want to or if they can.
They treat us like animals; predators to prey.
they think themselves superior and so they deny us our say.

They talk about teamwork, respect and equality
whilst denying us love and care for cruelty.
They constantly abuse us and often beat us
they make us feel worthless and that there's no-one to trust.
Having got away from this and able to live life.
I know that those scars will never die.

So why don't you stand up for what's right?
Stand and be counted for what's in plain sight?
You see this on the news, anytime, anywhere
whilst others consider of how their lives aren't fair.
The people that make these actions are cold at heart.
But were once considered unique and smart.
Many possibly were bullied into being this way,
after being scared, terrified and denied their say.

This was the first ever poem that I properly wrote. It's generally about how I see pain. It's invisible and only the strongest of people will hide it. The weakest? You see them. They are terrorists set on getting revenge and relentless in getting it. They let the cruelty that they endured to overrun them. they prefer to focus on it. Live it. Achieve it. Because, in the end they fell they will be happy. That it will make up for every piece of cruelty that they have been forced to live. But what will they/do they find? I think that those with actual hearts will feel empty at the end of it. As for myself, I classify everything under the file named 'Experience' because I learnt the wisest and most valuable lesson at the youngest of ages.

That lesson was forgiveness.

This was written at 13 years old.

18 and Pregnant (Part One)

I didn't think I would fall pregnant. More to the point, I didn't think I could have any children. I'd already been through too much and babies were far from on the brain. So when I found out I was overwhelmed. I had so many emotions. Shock, sadness, guilt even. I took the test and cried. I'd already had a poor upbringing, how am I supposed to guarantee my child would be brought up right when it never experienced good parenting first hand nor been old enough or mature enough to recognise it? So safe to say, I went out to the park and smoked three or four cigarettes one after the other. I had decided an abortion was the best option given I wasn't ready to be a mother. The thought frightened me because I automatically thought I would be exactly like my own mother making my child suffer mentally though not physically. I'd planned everything. The clinic to take the tablet. But I was too far along for that. And then later on that week whilst taking a bath I found I...

To you.

Roses are red, Violets are blue, there is one person I love and that is you. The one thing that I'll have you say is that you'll love me in every way. To hold on to me. to always cherish, to never let me go as without you I perish. If I fall, fall with me. If I hurt reassurance is what you can give me. to look into my soul and know what I'm feeling to not force my current scars into healing. I will always be willing to lend a hand and make sure that you know where I stand. For you I will always give my life through all our problems and our strife. I want you to never leave me and no matter what you'll always believe me. I love you and really you know its true. You never really said, so I ask, do you? I wrote this aged 14 years old.

Hands

I am 16 with Depression. I have more than scars and I have lost both of my parents but I am. I sing. I live. I love. I am a person. But I never used to see myself that way. I was bullied. I hated my accent. People said I sounded posh but I thought I just spoke plain English. I hated the way I looked. I wasn’t pretty or skinny. I wasn’t tall or rich. I didn’t have anything to give put of my hands. My mum went from a more severe addiction to crack when I was a baby to the less severe addiction to cannabis. Because of this, we had little money. I owned nothing that was designer. I had nothing to give from my hands but because I had nothing in my hands. All of what I owned came from the not so local charity shop. My mother told me never to tell anyone that we bought clothing from the charity shop but never told me why. I learnt the hard way. I was bullied because I couldn’t afford the latest shoes and bags. Because I didn’t wear the latest trends. I mean, I was a young girl being bullied ...
