Inside my head

Sometimes I think life is like a movie. When you’re upset, you act like life is okay, when you’re mad
you still act like life is okay, when you’re living through something that breaks you, tears you, tortures you inside, you act as if everything is okay. When really it’s not. And the worst place you could possibly be isn’t a place or somewhere you would go physically. It’s somewhere you could get stuck in every day despite where you are. Stuck in your mind with your thoughts as you stare at the ceiling at night as the thoughts inside your head threaten to drive you so far from sanity you think there is no escaping it. You run through memories of what was. The violence you may have endured. The words that scarred you just as deep inside as the actions did. And the pain, the agony of what you once had to live through. You consider the present with the “what ifs” and the “what will be” in the worst way possible. And finally you consider the future. The anxieties that come with it, the fear of a rebound or reoccurrence of what happened before but then comes the feelings. Loneliness, sadness, frustration until you can’t hold it inside anymore and you can’t bear it nor contain it, so you do anything that will take away the pain, even if it means harming the thing that you call you.
That’s what it’s like inside my head.

18 and Pregnant (Part One)

I didn't think I would fall pregnant. More to the point, I didn't think I could have any children. I'd already been through too much and babies were far from on the brain. So when I found out I was overwhelmed. I had so many emotions. Shock, sadness, guilt even. I took the test and cried. I'd already had a poor upbringing, how am I supposed to guarantee my child would be brought up right when it never experienced good parenting first hand nor been old enough or mature enough to recognise it? So safe to say, I went out to the park and smoked three or four cigarettes one after the other. I had decided an abortion was the best option given I wasn't ready to be a mother. The thought frightened me because I automatically thought I would be exactly like my own mother making my child suffer mentally though not physically. I'd planned everything. The clinic to take the tablet. But I was too far along for that. And then later on that week whilst taking a bath I found I...

To you.

Roses are red, Violets are blue, there is one person I love and that is you. The one thing that I'll have you say is that you'll love me in every way. To hold on to me. to always cherish, to never let me go as without you I perish. If I fall, fall with me. If I hurt reassurance is what you can give me. to look into my soul and know what I'm feeling to not force my current scars into healing. I will always be willing to lend a hand and make sure that you know where I stand. For you I will always give my life through all our problems and our strife. I want you to never leave me and no matter what you'll always believe me. I love you and really you know its true. You never really said, so I ask, do you? I wrote this aged 14 years old.

Hands

I am 16 with Depression. I have more than scars and I have lost both of my parents but I am. I sing. I live. I love. I am a person. But I never used to see myself that way. I was bullied. I hated my accent. People said I sounded posh but I thought I just spoke plain English. I hated the way I looked. I wasn’t pretty or skinny. I wasn’t tall or rich. I didn’t have anything to give put of my hands. My mum went from a more severe addiction to crack when I was a baby to the less severe addiction to cannabis. Because of this, we had little money. I owned nothing that was designer. I had nothing to give from my hands but because I had nothing in my hands. All of what I owned came from the not so local charity shop. My mother told me never to tell anyone that we bought clothing from the charity shop but never told me why. I learnt the hard way. I was bullied because I couldn’t afford the latest shoes and bags. Because I didn’t wear the latest trends. I mean, I was a young girl being bullied ...
